Aptly advertised as the "Fastest Breed of Hot Wheels cars", this is a special series that introduced a new wheel, the UItra Hots (UH). These cars were sold in individual blister packs and in special packs of 3 or 4 cars.
Like the vintage Hot Ones series, these all-metal cars are noted for speed. There are 10 castings in the series and they were released between 1984 and 1986. Somewhat confusingly, several of them have different names within this series and/or were simply re-named from other castings. For example, 1984's Quick Trik was also called Street Beast in 1985, but is a re-named Race Bait 308.
These cars run smooth and silent and consistently fast. That said, as you can see from my collection pictures, I have several copies of most of the castings and there is some variation in speed from car-to-car.

Some racing details and organization:
- I race on a two-lane, 27 foot Magic Derby track (equivalent to about one-third of a mile). The Derby track is 22% wider than a typical Hot Wheels orange track, allowing me to race more car sizes/scales.
- I've applied graphite to the cars, which really brings out the speed potential for diecast. Some cars only improve slightly, but others improve significantly when dry lubes applied.
- 5-star performers are the most elite and there are only 84 of them out of all the cars tested as of April, 2024. 4-star performers is the next best tier.

Results summary:
- Of the 10 castings, 4 are 5-stars and 6 of them are 4-stars. There are only 84 cars that are 5-stars and this limited casting series, has 4 of them. This may be the most impressive series in terms of overall quality.
- Quick Trik was tied for 9th fastest car overall and Wind Splitter was tied for 15th overall. Quick Trik was also the second fastest car in the Middleweight weight class.
- I recently found another Street Scorcher and it is now the 6th fastest of the 10 castings
- This series introduced the always fast Sol-Aire CX4 casting
