The Pro Circuit series was the first Hot Wheels initiation with NASCAR and Indy style cars.  There were three subsets: NASCAR cars, drag racing funny cars and Indy style cars.  I have not had success with the Indy Style cars.  Meanwhile, the two Funny Cars are Elite Speed level and all three castings within the NASCAR line are very fast.  New wheels were launched with these cars, the Pro Circuit 5 and 6 Spoke wheels.
Pro Racing was a line of NASCAR cars and other racing related cars and trucks released from 1997 through 2005.  The cars to focus on are the stock cars.  Most of the cars in this premium line feature rubber tires, but there was a 'basic' version with plastic tires offered as well.  See example blister pack above.  And they are fast.  The two years with the fast, plastic tires are in 1997 and 2000.  I have not seen the plastic tire versions for the stock cars in the other years, but I could be wrong.

Across those two years there were four stock car castings available: Pontiac Stocker, T-Bird Stocker, Monte Carlo Stocker and Ford Tauras Stocker.  Each of these castings came in many variations featuring replicas of NASCAR racing team cars.  I have about 60 of these cars and it does take some patience to find the faster ones.  Two of the four are in my Elite Speed level and the other two are at the High Speed level.

Elite Speed
Top Tier

Castrol GTX Funny Car
1992, Pro Circuit
67 grams, Pro-Circuit 6 Spoke wheels
Funny cars are typically very fast and this representation may be the best as this car is my overall Top 20.  The design is similar to the Probe Funny Car, a fast mainline casting.  Along with the King Kenny car version, this is a popular choice with racers.

Pontiac Stocker
Daytona 500, #00

2000, Pro Racing
42 grams, Goodyear Eagle 10-Spoke
The fastest car among the four Pro Racing stock car castings.  Reasonable weight, despite the plastic base.  The Goodyear wheels are very good and it has a relatively wide stance, creating stability on the track.

King Kenny Funny Car
1992, Pro Circuit
65 grams, Pro-Circuit 6 Spoke wheels
This is basically the same car as the Castrol GTX F/C, but I included it as it has its own identity.  The heavy weight and the strong wheels create a lot of momentum down the track.

T-Bird Stocker
Halvoline, #28

1997, Pro Racing
45 grams, Goodyear Eagle 10-Spoke
The second fastest stock car among the Pro Racing castings.  This T-Bird is the same casting as the 2002 mainline car I've ranked at the High Speed level.
